Rolland and many others designed several collections that were inspired from Saudi cuts like the abaya and bisht.
We use the past to present the future. Sketching is always the first step in this transformation. It’s how designers first put their thoughts and transfer their ideas into a product visually. Hand sketches were always and still remain the best tool to translate designs, even taking into consideration modern digital technologies that should’ve replaced the analog methods.
Here we share a few that come alive, and appreciate the intricate details and beauty.
Sketches were not only used in fashion but in many different artworks, like block printing, fabrication, embroidery and many others. Although technology has taken over many of this, people do appreciate hand work and see it as a unique and exclusive work.
