Identity is a complex concept, and artists are often complex characters with their own unique way of interpreting themes and the world around them.
Here, from our partnership with the Barjeel Art Foundation, we get to enjoy the different concepts that capture the essence of identity. Each artwork inspiring ideas and reflections on what our identities mean to us, and to others.
We have the renowned El Seed, the French Tunisian artist who uses Arabic calligraphy, graffiti and his distinctive art “as an echo of the stories of the communities that he meets around the world and aims to amplify their voices,” says his official website.
We feature other well-known artists and their take on their identity, prompting the question: When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
Enjoy discovering these artworks and thank you for being part of Ithraeyat’s journey.
