In the heart of Al-Ahsa, specifically in the city of Al-Hofuf, you can find one of the oldest markets in the Arabian Peninsula, Al-Qaisaryah Market. This covered market offers a journey through time, highlighted by the traditional architectural style it went through over the generations.

The market was established during the Ottoman era in 1822 AD, and is considered one of the most important historic commercial centers in the country. With its convenient location and high quality and variety of products, it attracts people from around the region.

The market is also known for its traditional Islamic architectural style, influenced by Turkish, Levantine, and Iraqi designs of old covered markets, with its identity finalized during the reign of King Abdulaziz. The market is a portal that connects the past and the future in the tight alleyways and kiosks filled with traditional products.

Al-Qaysariah Market is considered a tourist landmark and has been a reliable commercial center for more than a century. There are more than 400 kiosks with whatever you can imagine, from grain and herbs, to dates and incense, all the way to traditional wear and handicrafts like bishts (traditional cloaks). The bishts especially have been a famous craft in Al-Ahsa for decades.

The market is also located near other landmarks such as the historical Qasr Ibrahim palace, Bayt Al-Bay’ah, and Al Amiriya School.

Al-Qaysariah Market is more than a place to shop, it is  a rich experience filled with beauty and nostalgia that has withstood the test of time for generations.
