Vintage items are more than just old things from the past. They are witnesses of bygone eras, carrying with them priceless historical value and generations of stories that stretch from then to now. Their timeless beauty is immeasurable.

Ithraeyat recently interviewed Maha Alhussain, a Saudi in Riyadh who started her own vintage shop by collecting rare books, cups, kitchenware, watches and many more vintage items.

Q1: When did you start?

Back in 2015, it started as a hobby as I enjoyed collecting rare book editions and selective home decor collections, as well couture designer pieces.

I decided to sell some of my inventory back then as many items were high in demand. I enjoyed it so much I didn’t want to stop and so I established it as a business.

Q2: What do most people buy from you?

Books. Books have always been a source of joy for many people. Some would collect for personal use and some would pass it to loved ones as gifts.

“Where do you find these beautiful collections?”

Q4: Why did you start doing this?

I’m a collector myself and I find the pieces and the act of collecting them fascinating.

Q5: Can you tell us more about your watches collection?

Omega watches from the 1950s and 1960s are highly in  demand currently as the designs are both more feminine and iconic at the same time.
